Compare and Decide if Disney+ Is for You

Compare and Decide if Disney+ Is for You

A survey of 6,634 consumers found that 70 percent of streaming customers say there are too many streaming options. But they keep coming.

Disney+ is another streaming service that recently joined the fray. Is it worth it? We’ve put together a list of other services and compared them to Disney+ to help you decide.

Disney+

Pros:

A must-have if you have kids. Every account can stream to four devices simultaneously and can create different user profiles for different members of the household.

No more fights over what to watch! You can watch something more adult while your kids watch what they want.

It costs less than half of Netflix’s premium plan and is a great value. For the lower cost, you get 30 original series, 7,500 past episodes and 500 movie titles in one year alone.

Vintage Disney is available, providing both nostalgia and family entertainment.

There is a huge amount of content.

Cons:

Disney+ doesn’t seem to have current blockbuster content. Will people want to wait until blockbusters are finally available on Disney+? This is expected to change in the coming months.

The prices are low now, and people just wonder when the prices will rise, which is

certain to happen.

Netflix

When people think streaming, they think Netflix, and it is the service to beat if you want to play in the big leagues.

Pros:

Netflix has a huge content library, and a lot of that content is television content they have acquired from the television networks. They’ve pretty much replaced television networks because they offer content on demand and with no commercials.

They also have an extensive catalogue of original shows and movies.

Cons:

Netflix is more costly, but there is so much content to choose from that you can easily get your money’s worth.

Hulu

Pros:

Gives you the option of live TV and DVR at a reasonable cost. A must if you like television content.

Cons:

If you don’t buy the premium version of Hulu, you get ads! Some of the networks that provide television content to Hulu will be starting their own streaming service, so that may affect Hulu.

Amazon Prime Video

Pros:

If you have an Amazon Prime subscription, you already have Amazon Prime Video. If not, it may be worth your while to get it, and receive Amazon Prime goodies like free shipping for eligible purchases and exclusive shopping deals, just to name a couple.

Cons:

Amazon may have stretched themselves a little thin, and may be doing one thing too many. Their interface can be difficult, with usability varying between different devices. Searching for videos can be difficult when you’re not sure if you’re searching Amazon.com or Amazon Prime.

HBO Max:

HBO’s newest service is scheduled to launch in May 2020.

HBO Max will be made up mostly of the programming from HBO premium TV service, in addition to exclusive original programming and library content that includes WarnerMedia as third-party content providers.

They all have something to offer. It’s up to you what you think is most important.
