2019 Summer Fashion Trends for Men

To the casual observer, it might seem like men’s fashion hasn’t changed in the last 50 or so years—guys are still sporting the same suit and tie combinations, right?

However, to the fashion aficionados, it’s not that black and white… colors are in now, too! While the style of formal attire has followed the same formula over the last few decades, there have been plenty of subtle changes, alterations and ways in which designers have taken the timeless look and truly made it their own.

Casual attire, including hats, footwear, and accessories, has also seen a dramatic shift in what’s in style as the years have gone by. Below is a list of the trendiest men’s clothes this summer.

Bucket Hat

In the early 90s bucket hats were all the rage—it seems like almost every rapper who was creating music had a music video during which they were wearing a bucket hat. Then, they sort of just disappeared.

Fortunately for fans of ‘90’s nostalgia rap, Prada is bringing the bucket hat in a big way. Coming in a white body with black trim, Prada’s bucket hat also features a mounted logo plaque on the front. The black and white color scheme is simple, aesthetic, and means it goes with most outfits.

Boating Print Shirt

Off-White’s boating print shirt is a fresh take on the classic graphic shirt with aesthetic images that catches the eye but doesn’t overwhelm the senses.

With a notched collar, a front button fastening, and short sleeves, it can fit most casual settings, and even the occasional semi-formal event (for those with a strong adventurous side).

Bottega Veneta Intrecciato Slides

Slides are some of the most versatile footwear available. Whether you’re going to the beach, the gym, or simply walking around the city, slides can fit pretty much any occasion—particularly when you need to be able to take your shoes on and off quickly.

Bottega Veneta’s take on slides provides an elegant design for a type of footwear not often associated with elegance. The black on black color scheme means it hides dirt and goes with most outfits—the sole is made of rubber, while the inner and outer lining is made of leather for optimal comfort.

Sies Marjan Elias Ombré Cargo Shorts

These shorts, inspired by New York, offer all the storage space of cargo shorts including six pockets overall—two on the hip, two on the rear, and one on each thigh—with a sleek, modern color scheme that really catches the eye.

Sies Marjan’s take on cargo shorts’ exterior is 100 percent polyester, meaning it’s durable and resistant to wrinkles and stretching, while the exterior is 50 percent polyester and 50 percent cotton for added comfort. They also feature a front button fastening, belt loops, along with the aforementioned pockets.

Tom Ford Two-Piece Suit

Tom Ford’s take on the summer suit’s exterior is made of a blend of 61 percent cotton and 39 percent linen, while the interior is comprised of 50/50 cupro and silk for optimal comfort in the summer months.

The jacket features featuring a wide lapel, a broad welt chest pocket, a front button fastening, front flap pockets, long sleeves, button cuffs and a rear central vent, while the pants feature a button and zip fly, a waistband with belt loops, side pockets, back buttoned welt pockets, a straight leg and a regular length.
